St Peter's Church, Great Totham

This Grade 2* Listed church in Great Totham required a full re-roof that Border Roofing were contracted to complete, by Lodge & Sons (Builders) Ltd.

This church was a massive job, with many roofs of a large surface area. We re-roofed all roofs using reclaim pegs tiles, then used New Keymer Handmade Clay Plain tiles on the vertical tiling. The tower roof was tiled using oak shingles and was carried out by Lodge & Sons. We re-leaded the large box gutters that ran in between the roofs. The decorative ridge and finials were an important finish to the church roof, so we worked hard to find, then fix, impressive and matching decorative ridge tiles to each roof. We also had to encorporate many bat access points in this roof, where we worked along side The Bat Conservation Trust to ensure the nesting of the bats wasn't effected by the re-roofing of the church.
